Frequently Asked Questions

Credit repair is the process of improving an individual's creditworthiness by addressing and resolving negative items on their credit report. This typically involves reviewing the credit report for errors or outdated information, disputing inaccuracies with credit bureaus, negotiating with creditors to remove or settle debts, and adopting better financial habits to boost credit scores over time. The goal of credit repair is to enhance the person's credit profile, making it easier to qualify for loans, credit cards, and favorable interest rates.

The credit repair process usually involves the following steps:

  • Obtain your credit reports: obtain your credit reports from the 3 major bureaus: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion through a credit monitoring service.
  • Review your credit reports: We'll carefully analyze your report for any inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, duplicated, or unverifiable information, or fraudulent activity.
  • Identify the negative and inaccurate items: We'll provide two assessment reports; an analysis report and an analyzer report highlighting all negative and inaccurate items hurting your credit scores.
  • Dispute Inaccuracies: We'll prepare and send out all dispute letters to the various reporting agencies, collectors, and creditors on your behalf and in a timely manner to challenge any negative and inaccurate items in getting them removed lawfully and ethically.
  • Negotiate with Creditors: We'll prepare you to negotiate with your creditors and collectors in getting the legitimate debts or negative items settled with them to remove negative marks upon payment.
  • Establish Positive Credit History: Make timely payments on existing high-creditor balances, to improve your credit utilization ratio. Paying on time and reducing debt levels can positively impact your score.
  • Maintain Good Credit Habits: Consistently paying bills on time, keeping balances low, and avoiding new debt will help rebuild your credit over time.
  • Monitor your Progress: Regularly check your credit reports and scores to track improvements and ensure that corrected information remains accurate.

The duration of credit repair varies depending on your unique situation. Typically, you can see noticeable improvements within 3-6 months, especially if you're actively disputing errors, paying down debts, and practicing good credit habits. However, more complex issues like bankruptcies, repossessions, foreclosures, and charge-offs may take up to 12 months to see significant improvement. Patience and consistent effort are key, as rebuilding credit is a gradual process.

Negative items that can potentially be removed from your credit report include the following:

  • Inaccurate or Outdated Information

  • Wrongly Reported Late Payments
  • Bankruptcies with inaccuracies or errors
